Travis Scott and Spotify Drop Days Before Rodeo Concert Film

Travis Scott first released Days Before Rodeo on August 18, 2014. In the past ten years, though, Scott’s popularity has skyrocketed to the point where his concerts cause seismic events. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the mixtape, Scott officially dropped DBR on streaming on August 23rd, along with exclusive merch and bundles. 

Like most of his releases, he dropped vinyls of the album, which might help him finally clinch the #1 spot on Billboard in the second round against Sabrina Carpenter, with sales projected to reach 130K. 

He also celebrated with a one-night-only show in Atlanta — and Spotify got footage exclusively for his biggest fans.

After performing “Quintana Pt. 2,” Scott briefly discussed creating Days Before Rodeo.

“We drove down in a sprinter van to the A … and I told myself ‘I’m going to do this album fast and I want to put it out quick. I wasn’t able to put it out officially, but I was just like ‘I have to get this out to the world.’ So shoutout to all of the day ones that are in this motherf*****,” Scott said to the crowd. 

He broke down specifically what his ragers meant to him as well, saying that they are true and loyal to the craft. 

“They don’t take no s***. I call them family because they’re like my brothers and sisters. I want them to feel numb to the pain, numb to the noise, numb to the distractions … that way they can just feel free,” Scott said.

The documentary was filled with footage of ragers turning up in the crowd to songs including “Mamacita,” “Basement Freestyle,” and “Drugs You Should Try It.” There’s even archival footage of Scott working on the latter song back in August 2014, stating that it was “his biggest solo song ever.” No feature.

There weren't any teasers of upcoming songs in the documentary. Nevertheless, it’s a nice DBR commemorative moment for Scott and the ragers giving it all on the floor. Fingers are crossed for the visuals for “Mo City Flexologist” to drop though.

Playboi Carti and Lucki are Still Beefing, But They’re Both Confused Why

Playboi Carti, finally, to the delight of fans, released his newest single, “ALL RED,” on September 13. Hip-hop heads began posting their reactions online, which were filled with a lot of Future comparisons. However, Lucki posted a video of his new chain around the same time the single dropped and stated, “crosses up” — and like Michael Jordan, Carti “took that personally.”

Carti, confused as to why Lucki was allegedly sneak dissing, posted a series of old DMs in which Lucki showed him love. Fans were quick to point out that in the screenshots Carti posted, it looked like they were having a conversation, and Carti unsent many of his replies to paint Lucki as a fanboy/glazer potentially.

Lucki though was just as confused about where this was all coming from in the first place. He mentioned Carti in an IG video on September 16 to clarify his previous comments.

"You think yesterday because I bought a chain and I said, 'crosses up,' that I was sneak dissing you because you made a song that said, 'upside down cross tat' on my neck,' but it wasn't that though. I just bought a chain and was saying, 'crosses up.' You just insecure because you don't love Jesus like that,” Lucki said.

He then posted a picture of Carti in a shirt that said, “I [heart] Jesus” on the front, and DMs from Carti showing him reciprocating the love.

Simple misunderstanding that should be easily cleared up, right? Wrong, Carti posted an IG video on Wednesday, September 18, with cryptic words that suggest he’s holding a grudge. In the video, he talks about his new song “Timeless” with the Weeknd but then takes shots at an unnamed rapper.

“Should've signed to the O … I ain't worried bout nobody, n****s can talk, say whatever they wanna say about me,” Carti said, referring to his label Opium Records. Lucki has also been beefing with another Opium signee, Destroy Lonely, online recently, which is only adding to the conflict with Carti.

Like many rap beefs of the past, it all apparently started over a woman. While Lucki said he had nothing to do with Destroy Lonely’s ex-girlfriend, he told Lonely to ask his new girl about him. Adding even more shade, Lucki followed up by stating that it was “better to be a multimillionaire than be signed to a multi-millionaire,” referring to Carti and his label. 

Destroy Lonely immediately responded to Lucki’s video in a since-deleted tweet, stating that “Boy u ain’t never seen me in no dress …And u damn sure ain’t never scare me."

Lucki hasn’t directly responded to Carti yet other than posting a whole lotta bands on Instagram. Hopefully, though, the two can get back on good terms and keep dropping new heat.
