Billboard Hot 100

As reported by Billboard for the week of August 17.
The above chart shows Billboard’s Hot 100 ranking for this week. The Hot 100 ranks songs based on streaming activity, radio airplay audience impressions, and sales data—all measured by Luminate.
Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” and Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby” have maintained their chart placements from the previous week. “Like That,” “Houdini,” and “Mamushi” only dropped down a single spot this week. Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion and Glorilla dropped down three spots with “Wanna Be.”

How La Flame Ended Up in La Parisian Prison

The stars popped out and showed off the best that America has to offer, from Flava Flav being the ultimate fan to Snoop Dogg dancing with horses. Even Houston’s very own Travis Scott made an appearance to see the U.S. men’s basketball team dominate on August 8 and sing the national anthem with Quavo. However, it was when the game ended, and La Flame headed back to the hotel that the evening took a chaotic turn.

Those on social media caught a video of the Paris paparazzi chasing Scott down to the point where he ran to the nearby cops for help.

Once he made it back to the George V hotel for the night, Scott and his bodyguard decided to go “SICKO MODE” and got into a heated confrontation. The police were eventually called and Scott was arrested early in the morning of August 9.

Since the police said that the incident was minor, he was released from police custody on August 10.
While in the French city, the rapper was supposed to finally join Kai Cenat’s live stream, but his arrest led to it being canceled once again. Cenat even approached some members of the Paris police himself and asked them to “please just free Travis right now.”

This all comes after Scott’s other legal run-in this year after being arrested for trespassing and disorderly intoxication. Miami prosecutors on August 8 dropped the disorderly intoxication charge against him—but he still needs to face the music on the trespassing charge.
Hopefully, rap’s king of rage can keep his attitude in check and continue with his CIRCUS MAXIMUS tour without any setbacks or run-ins with police.

Why is Rick Ross Being Sued Over His Car & Bike Show?

The Biggest Boss made his way to sunny Georgia on June 1 to hold his third annual Car and Bike Show on his humongous property called “The Promise Land.” With live performances from Boosie and Bun B, vendors galore, and plenty of cars and bikes to gawk at, it was the place to be that day. However, one person couldn’t get to the event and is taking legal action against Ross because of it.
Darris Straughter vs. Ricky Rozay
Ross is being sued by Darris Straughter, who in 2018 suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury and needed special assistance to attend the event. Along with booking the travel and place to stay, he contacted the event organizers two weeks in advance to let them know what he needed.
He was allegedly told multiple times that a wheelchair-accessible shuttle would take him to and from the event. Unfortunately, though, the shuttle never arrived, and Straughter’s trip from Miami was a waste of time.
After waiting for the refund the organizers promised, Straughter lawyered up and is now suing Ross for “breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and violations of the Americans With Disabilities Act.”
Straughter isn’t the only one having issues with the event, either. Other attendees are asking where their money is in the comments on the event’s official Instagram account after being turned away at the entrance.
“So now refund all the 1000 of ppl who paid, had tickets and parking passes and were turned away n plus paid for additional parking to not be able to attend. Let's [talk standing in line for 4 hours and] not being able to get in after you been paid. Let's [talk] bout that since you wanna post how good it was,” user sexxytesha78 said in the comments of a June 1 post.
Ross has yet to address all of the backlash, but he will eventually have to face the music for the disorganization at his event.

Lil Uzi Vert’s 2023 album Pink Tape is officially certified platinum as of August 9, according to the RIAA. His song “Just Wanna Rock” was also announced to be 4x platinum as well.
“Not Like Us” is now allegedly the most streamed diss song on Spotify and potentially other streaming services, as well, beating out Tupac’s “Hit Em Up.”
Meta and Universal Music Group’s partnership is leveling up. Their new multi-year music licensing deal will allow UMG’s artists to promote their work across Meta’s platforms, like Instagram.
